Mariam is a passionate advocate for the viola, and a member of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed with leading ensembles including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the London Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC orchestras and the RTE orchestra and has played in many of the major concert halls across Europe and internationally, in Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Zurich, and further afield to Kharkiv, Seoul, Tokyo, st-Petersburg and Hong Kong. She has worked under the batons of conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Antonio Pappano, Andris Nelsons, Semyon Bychkov, Riccardo Muti, Charles Dutoit, Daniele Gatti, Marios Papadopoulos, and Karina Canellakis, among others.

Alongside her orchestral work, Mariam maintains a strong commitment to chamber music, regularly appearing in a wide range of collaborative projects across Europe and internationally, performing as part of chamber groups and small ensembles.

Based in Switzerland, Mariam is also an active pedagogue. She currently teaches viola at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève and at the Centre artistique du lac. Previously, she taught at the Harrow School in London and at the Encore Music Project. She will also teach on the Estivales summer course at the CMG in August 2026.
